What Application of Sidewall Belt Conveyor in Thermal Power Plant?

1.Requirements for Belt Conveyor
Sidewall belt conveyor is the main equipment to transport coal and lime-ash in thermal power plant. Therefore it has the high security requirements. In general, the whole transit line is equipped with twin channel sidewall belt conveyor, one is put into use, another is as standby application device. Thus, this coal handling system must be equipped with sidewall belt conveyor with 2500m-3000m length. Applying sidewall belt conveyor to thermal powder plant, it can not only simplify procedure, but also save cost.
2.Features of Belt Conveyor in Power Plant
Due to power plant has high requirements for the security of equipment, technical requirements of sidewall belt conveyor are as follows:
1) It has different requirements for belt conveyor when it used to receive, convey or discharge materials. For instance, if the belt conveyor is used to receive materials, the belt speed of it shouldn’t be too high. If it is used to convey materials, it requires that trough angle of idler decrease properly. If plow discharger is put into use, the cover rubber of belt surface should be thicken properly. 
2)The belt speed should be low. Belt conveyor is mostly arranged in workshop, so it has high requirements for coal dust control. According to domestic and foreign practical experience, it’s better to adopt lower speed.
3)After installation of this machine, it seldom changes its layout.
4)Different coal type has different requirements for belt conveyor. For example, large coal particle size needs impact idler with high quality. Coal with less water and more dust needs guide chute with good sealing.

How to Solve the Problem of deviation of belt conveyor

Belt deviation of belt conveyor is the most common troubles in operation. Key points to solve the problem are ensuring the precious size in installation and regular maintenance. As various reasons of deviation, we need to solve problems distinctively.

1. Adjust carrying idler group. When belt in middle section is deviation, can adjust the place of carrying idler group. The concrete way is that forward idler group to the side belt biased while other side backward. Move the lower part of idler left when belt running deviation upward when upper part downward.


2. Install spherical idler group. There are many types of spherical idler, such as intermediate shaft type, four link type, vertical roller type, etc. It is reasonable to install spherical idler for shorter belt or two-way running belt conveyor because shorter belt conveyor is easy deviation and uneasy to adjust. However, longer belt conveyor may as well not use this way as spherical idler may effect the service life of belt.

3. Adjust the positions of driving roller and bend roller. If belt is running deviation to the right side of driving roller, move bearing at right side forward. And same to the left side. Adjustment method of bend roller is opposite with driving roller. Adjust repeatedly to the ideal position and may well as install accurately before adjust the rollers.

4. Adjust take-up unit. Take-up unit adjustment is the very important part of deviation adjustment of belt conveyor. Two bend rollers at the upper side of heavy hammer take-up should perpendicular to belt length direction and vertical gravity to ensure its shaft center line horizontal. When use screw take-up or hydrocylinder take-up, two bearings of take-up roller should translate at the same time to ensure roller axis is vertical with longitudinal direction of belt conveyor.

What is the Requirement for Belt Conveyor Restart-up?

When the belt conveyor stops , restart-up belongs to overload start. Thus it requires belt conveyor equipped with a frequency converter in order to overload start. Here PK Machinery will summarize the requirement of belt conveyor restart-up.

The inverter must have the function of the large starting torque at low speed.Actually in the process of starting, as a result of the belt scale, each wheel is time order one by one according to the rotation, will not rotate at the same time.Even if the wheel rolling, because of low speed between roller and roller shaft lubrication is not good, will be very acerbity, the dynamic friction is unstable, so low starting torque has the certain fluctuation.

So this kind of big starting torque at low speed is the need to maintain a certain period of time, usually at least a few seconds.The length of the belt and the minimum speed startup, and scalability of the belt.Because of the low speed, and startup torque and speed fluctuation will be big.

How the Fixed Belt Conveyor Roller Classify?

Roller is used to support the conveyor belt and carry of the material, to ensure the stability of the conveyor belt.
In general, the fixed belt conveyor roller is the following:
1.Trough roller: it is also known as carrying roller which is used for carrying bulk material;
2.Parallel roller: parallel upper roller is used for carrying materials, parallel lower roller is to support the return branch of the conveyor belt;
3.Self-aligning roller: it includes taper aligning supporting roller and friction aligning roller which are mainly used for adjusting the belt deviation to avoid S-shaped, so as to ensure the stable operation of conveyor belt;
4.Impact roller: it is installed in the lower part of the conveyor belt, which can reduce the impact of the conveyor belt to extend the service life of the conveyor belt;

Five Reasons Why You Need Pay Attention To Conveyor Pulley

Rubber falling off the pulley is one of the common trouble of belt conveyor,after many years of practice and analysis, the reasons are as following:

1.The wrapping angle between pulley and belt is too small.
Peripheral force of driving pulley is transmitted to belt by friction.In running,in order to avoid slipping between pulley and belt,the belt tension is not allowed too big.According to Euler’s Formula,if the wrapping angle is smaller,the belt tension will be bigger,so it’s easy to slip.Slipping will speed up the wear of pulley.
2.Water or wet material stick on the belt surface.
When transporting material contents dust,like coal,ore and so on ,we usually use water spray to remove dust,thus water will be mixed with material and stick on belt surface,besides,rain will also lead water sticking on belt, once water sticks on belt surface,the friction coefficient between belt and pulley will decline which will cause slipping between belt and pulley,and speed up the wear of pulley.

3.The tension is too small.
Tension device is very important to conveyor pulley,if the tension is too small,it will lead to slip,causing wear of pulley,when the tension distance is not enough and the belt with permanent deformation,we can cut a segment of belt,then vulcanize again.
4.The failure of cleanser.
The failure of cleanser can result in the adhesive materials entering into belt and pulley,causing wear between belt and pulley, thus the rubber cover will fall off the pulley,and reduce the service life of belt.
5.Belt conveyor material scattering .
Belt conveyor material scattering is a common problem,when the material scatter during machine running,a portion of material will enter into belt and pulley,which will cause the wear of rubber surface and belt.
